  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I’d be Minister for Magic, because the Wizarding world really needs a leader and I could really make some good changes to policies and regulations. For starters I would make it easier for werewolves to find and keep jobs. I’d also regulate the curriculum so students did more hands-on non-theory lessons, especially in Defense Against the Dark Arts. I’d also make sure to set up some scholarships for people like the Weasleys who might be stretching their budget and perhaps set up some primary schools for wizards, so they won’t cause questions at muggle schools or be a burden on their families at home.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
I’d teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, because like Professor Lupin, you could do lots of teaching about interesting creatures and how to defend yourself, but also things like dueling which could come in handy in the dark times that lie ahead. I almost see this as a logic class, because you have to think before you act, but it seems a really interesting class and the students could really use a teacher that would stay and help and give them a better understanding rather than looking at themselves in the mirror.

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
I would put my name in the Goblet of Fire, probably to prove someone wrong (and prove that girls are equals) but the most likely reason is that my friends and I would just be like “what the heck” and put our names in for the fun of it.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
I would be a fox because they tend to be solitary and opportunistic. Personally I find working as a group annoying sometimes, because I feel that I’m being restricted from taking opportunities that could really help improve the work. I also like to live by the motto “Carpe Diem- Sieze the Day” After the time I almost drowned I think I’ve really taken pretty much every opportunity that appealed to me and that was a real eye opener. I also am a resourceful and try to use what I’ve got especially before I go and spend more money on something I don’t need.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
Ginny Weasley. Independent, lives in a house where everyone leaves the seat up, yep that’s me. I also happen to do sarcastic impressions of people like Ginny does in Half-Blood Prince (Fleur). There’s also the whole crazy friend thing, I have a lot of crazy friends not as dreamy/crazy as Luna but more crazy/crazy. Playing sport is also something I’m very fond of, especially when you beat the boys.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
As much as I hate to admit it, it would be me about 10 kg slimmer and about 10 cm taller at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie hanging with Emma, Rupert, Dan, Bonnie and Evanna, having fun in my jeans, strawberry keds, and my favourite Abercrombie tee dragging along my 7 year old copy of Philosophers Stone.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
I’d use it to travel to Africa to help stop poverty and provide schools, housing, fresh food and water and warm(or at least non-threadbare) clothing. If I had any left over I would use it to help fund research for diseases like cancer and invest some as well.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
I wanted to be a mum/author when I was little, but now I’d rather be an author/lawyer, the whole mum/house-wife/marriage thing doesn’t really appeal to me anymore. I’d rather be independent. As I’ve heard: “A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle”

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
Hmm…I’d invent a lost and found spell that would be really useful when you’re in a rush and you can’t find keys, or your purse, or perhaps even your wand definitely very helpful for busy mornings. Incantation: reperio modo insert object here. (latin for ‘find now’)

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
I’m always freaked about someone breaking into our house and murdering me with a gun, but (with credit to JKR for the idea) it would be really funny for the assailant to grow a baby head instead and for the gun to turn into a dummy. Yeah that would be funny a baby-headed man trying to murder me by spitting his dummy.

  • What do you look for in a friend?
Quite a lot of things, essentially someone you can rely on and is thoroughly trustworthy. I also happen to only befriend people who are strong individuals with firm beliefs and opinions. Being a sheep is most pointless if you want to be my friend.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
I hate people who don’t have real opinions. Ones derived from what they know, what they’ve seen, what they’ve done. I want to know about them, not just the newsreader on Channel 7 or Kochie from Sunrise. They also need to be able to be recognized by their personality not by their physical traits. You should be able to point out someone I respect by their views. I can’t stand sheep who flock together to become mindless zombies who only believe in ‘the beauty bible’.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
    • My ability to laugh: Always good to have a laugh, even at lame jokes it really just makes your day feel a bit brighter and really releases stress.
    • Sharing Opinions/Ideas: I love being on the bus with my friend Tife, we love to share our opinions on everything from vegetarianism to stem cell research. I think it’s really great to hear other peoples ideas, it gives you a much broader understanding of your environment.
    • Willingness to stand up for what I believe in: Perhaps I can go OTT with it sometimes, but being able to stand up for what you believe in without jumping on the bandwagon gives you a real sense of identity and stops you feeling lost and invaluable.
    • Makes killer sandwiches (Oh the many combinations!): Always best to use what you’ve got and when you’re stuck in the house (and you don’t want to blow up the microwave [again]) its really handy to use the resources that you’ve got. That also applies in teamwork, were you have to play to your strength.
    • Love to learn: Seems a bit strange seeing how I hate school and all, but learning new things really excites me. it also give you a broader range of topics to talk about to anyone.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
    • Pessimism: Okay it so happens I’m a bit of a pessimist, but I think feeling pessimistic all the time really helps you appreciate times you feel optimistic and cheerful.
    • My ability to laugh (it’s not always the right thing to do): It fits into both categories, your friend has an accident, but it’s so funny you just have to laugh, then when it happens to you they laugh and you say ‘it’s not funny’. That’s really what just makes it negative and very ironic really.
    • Overly opinionated (too often really): I can overreact when I really disagree with someone’s point of view, I wish I didn’t though, working on it still.
    • Sarcasm: I love my sarcasm, but sometimes people don’t pick up the sarcasm and well, that’s not good. Only good to use sparingly when appropriate.
    • Don’t think first (before I act) a.k.a Cate Moments: Ah yes, Cate moments, all those silly little moments where I’ll say stupid things like “That’s my name!” When people say “Cate?” Or when they go (like Gab) “Eww Oreos and Peanut Butter and DISGUSTING” or the like and I answer: “Well, so is your face!” or something just as retarded. Sometime I may use a time turner to take back a few of those.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: Courage is the willingness to stand up for what you believe is right and true, even if no one else agrees or conforms to it.
    • Loyalty: Loyalty is loving and helping people you care about, even if it's something you don't want to do
    • Intelligence: Intelligence is thinking before acting, taking what you’ve got and using it to the best of your knowledge and/or your ability.
    • Ambition: Driving and Willingness, if you’re ambitious you strive to achieve the best you can.
