[Parental Disgretion Is Advised] (Sort Me)

  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
In the books, they don't go very deep into Wizarding professions outside of the Ministry, Medicine, Education, Sports, with a few others in retail and dragon-care, etc. I, however, would probably do best in either Education or Retail. I have found, through experience and various conversations that I am a good teacher. Well, at least in the Harry Potter world. (Yes, I taught classes in a guild on Neopets, and was always complimented on them seeing as I was only 11-13) I have also tutored and taught younger children how to read, write, and do basic mathematics. I get good grades, and am normally good with people, if not a bit shy. As for retail, I have been helping my father with stores for a good amount of my life, and can almost always sell something to everyone. I tend to play my strengths and wish to do what I enjoy, therefore I wouldnt want to play a sport, or be in medicine (I hate science and doctor-stuff)I dislike law and government, seeing as politics poor the heck out of me.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
Well, I must think about that one, seeing as I myself have taught a few online, as stated above. Hmmm, what class would be good for a 14 year old? Kidding, of course! But anyway. I would probably wind up teaching either Defense Against the Dark Arts or... Transfiguration. I would need to teach something that interested me, and since Book 1, those two have always been in. My love of the two subjects only increased over time as the series progressed. I mean, its all done by process of elimination, because I dislike plants (there goes Herbology), I find learning about animals kind of boring after a while (there goes CoMC), I dislike history and runes and other languages, so that means no Ancient Runes, no History of Magic.... uh, Charms wouldnt be so bad, but I would probably be sick of it after a while, because it isnt nearly as interesting in my mind. I wouldnt mind Divination, if I were to teach it the right way. I have always been in witchcraft since before I read HP, and I hope to start studying Wicca soon, and Tarot cards, and other forms of witchcraft and divination, seeing as my dad has permitted it, for the simple reason that he likes it and that his grandmother could read tea-leaves. His side of the family has a strong sixth-sense, including me, so it wouldnt be too bad. Potions=Chemistry=Science=NO. I hate science, yet I'm in advanced science.... but it still bores the heck out of me... I'm also in Algebra, yet I wouldnt want to teach Arithmancy, because I would get too confused with all the numbers... *trying to think of the other subjects, if any* I have pretty much just avoided the "why" of the question, haven't I? Damn it all. I would probably like to teach Transfiguration because the idea of changing something into something else fascinates me. After really reading into it, I felt kind of like Hermione when she talked of it with Percy in the beginning of the first book. It all just seems amazing and fun, seeing as there are so many possibilities. On the subject of Defense Against the Dark Arts, I was overly intrigued by all of the Dark creatures and spells. They just fascinated me and lured me in. I wanted to learn so much about them it wasnt even funny. I actually got pissed off that I couldn't learn more than the Lexicon provided. The dueling seems fun and challenging, which is what I like - I love fighting at home, so it kind of goes together. All of the objects in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and the spells are interesting in themselves. I would give anything to actually be able to study them and for them to really exist. Yes, all in all I am one odd person, I realise this entirely... If I couldnt teach one of those two subjects, I would have to create a Writing class, since Writing is my one true passion.

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
Yes, I mean, what have I really got to lose? (Don't answer that, it was a stupid question. :P) I love challenges of any kind, and I won't shy away from most challenges... with the exception of crushes.... I think I would have fun in the Tournament, and even if I lost I would still feel like I had won because I had gone through the experience. Its all fun and games to me, even if I get hurt because I took the risk, as always, and so I have no one to blame but myself. (wow, this is a really short answer, sorry)

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
The problem is you can't choose your form, which is what makes it interesting, if you think about it, and actually reveals the most about your personality. I can't really guess what I would end up being. Probably a demented wolf or something. I'm just so... all over the place that its hard to figure out. I mean, one minute I'm quiet, the next I'm talking, the next I'm laughing, the next I'm screaming -- that happened today. I'm just so... different and out there that its hard to pinpoint a certain quality. I would want to be some form of canine though, seeing as wolves and dogs are my favorite animals. I tend to be quite brave, if not shy and quiet, both of which are deadly, if you think about it--- until you get to know me, when I get hyper, loud, jumping around, hugging people, laughing, falling, hitting. Its just wierd... It'd be fun to be a wolf though, having no attachments, doing whatever I wanted, running solo or in a pack, protecting my own. It'd be great.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
I identify with so many characters in different ways that its hard to pinpoint the who's and why's. I'm like the twins, in a care free, laugh it off, make jokes, blackmail you for my money (I've done that) kind of way. The boys can be serious, as can I, and be playful as hell, which is definitely me. I also identify with Harry and Ron, both in cluelessness and bravery and love. I'd do anything for my friends, yet I can be a total goofball and blow everything off. I can also be like Hermione in her studying way. I always get my assignments in on time, have good grades, study, etc. I take my schoolwork seriously and try to get my friend Kadie to as well. >To no avail< I kind of tend to feel out of place like Remus a lot of the time. And I can act like Sirius and just not give a damn and risk it all... but also, like Dumbledore, I can try to be the wisest and make mistakes at the same time... this is so tough, I'm sorry I couldnt answer this accordingly.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
What would I see? I would probably see myself and my father very happy. Like smiling, nothing wrong in the world, with our family - mom type of happy. I cant say why, besides that we've been through a lot. Too much, way too much that we didnt deserve.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
Since my father taught me good manners and to be kind and ran a non-profit, I would probably give a good deal of the money to charity. Another piece of it would go towards my father and relatives, because I feel they deserve it for what they have done for me, especially my father. I'd probably give some of it to my friends, because I love them and they are great. Another piece would be spent on a nice truck, a nice paid off house, and a retirement fund for my dad because it is wanted and deserved. I would take a large piece of it just to spend on junk, because I'm 14 and its what I do... lots of clothes, manga, books, a new computer, etc. Good stuff. The rest would be put away for emergencies in the bank, so I don't spend it all and for when I am an adult and need it.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
I always wanted to be a veternarian. I just love animals and wanted to care for them and save their lives and keep them healthy. Oddly, though, after seeing what was done to these animals and how they were operated on or put down, I was saddened and gave up that dream. I don't think I have a right to decide on who lives or who dies. No one should have that choice but you, yourself. That is my belief, anyway. Yes, my ideal job has changed. I wish now to become a published novelist. I enjoy writing very much, it is a big part of my life; my passion. I feel that expressing myself in words and telling stories is very important and vital to my mental state. If I couldnt write, I would feel... shattered, broken. As of now, I am writing a story that I hope will one day be published. It is currently in the early stages of development and I hope to have it completed and published one day. I have recieved compliments and awards for my writing, and I plan to play my strengths in life and do what I am good at, which I have probably been stating throughout this application.

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
Can't believe I missed this one... how sad. Seeing as I tend to be lazy, I would have to create a spell that did my schoolwork for me while at the same time implanting the stuff I needed to know into my brain so I could use it when needed. It would help and save time, it'd be kind of cool. I'd have to get it patented, except it would be banned in Hogwarts, I expect. The incantation would be schola opus brevis which translates from Latin to English as 'school work shortcut' (yes, i looked it up on an English-Latin translator. The spell would be called Brevis which is Latin for Shortcut

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
You know what? My greatest fear, I have just realised, is rejection. At least, I think so. I could be just fogged by tiredness, but I don't think so... the boggart would have to turn into some symbol of rejection.... I hate feeling that I have done wrong, and I hate being turned down. I fear being told that others don't like me, which is why I didnt talk to Chase after gym, out of fear, even though my friends tried to push me into him (its a long story). I don't know why I am like that, but I really wish that I wasn't, because it weakens me greatly. I hate feeling weak. I would have to turn it into something funny.... like... Chad falling off the back of his bike. Man, that was halarious seeing it from the bus! It would just be funny, and it would take my mind off of the rejection and fear.

  • What do you look for in a friend?
I look for loyalty in a friend, I mean, if there is no loyalty or trust, then what kind of a friendship do I have? I hope my friends are brave and funny, and that they are nice... I don't want uptight, scaredy-cat jerks for friends, really. I would want us to have some of the same interests, so we would have something to talk about. I want a lot, too much to name, but I am satisfied with my current friends, seeing as they fill my requirements to a pretty good point.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
Omfg, I hate it when people crack their knuckles and their necks and stuff! Its soooo gross! I swear, this girl Emily who sits next to me in Science does it a lot, like today, and it creeps me out and I get chills down my back. Its kind of unexplainable.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I can make people laugh; why? cause I do it a lot
I can get my point across easily, normally through hand gestures (mocked for it) or by hitting... yea.
I write really fast and pretty neat when I want to, so there.
Dude, I can act totally cool around a guy that I'm crushing on severely. Until my friends try to push me into him, or I start to watch him during gym, but normally, you know...
Hmmm, I can take hits, both verbal and physical, and I dont give a damn when someone tells me I'm mean (Like, everyday, by emily, yet I dont care)

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
I fear rejection --not putting "whys" sorry.
I hate it when people look sad, I have to get all concerned.
Chase - this'll be changed soon
Being indifferent, it pisses people off...
Having an attitude, I dont care, but it draws people away.
  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: bravery. I consider it standing up for what you believe in. A common Gryffindor trait, of course. It means taking risks, not caring what other people may think...doing it because you want to. (yeah, not a great definition.)
    • Loyalty:A common Hufflepuff trait. It means to trust, I think. You won't betray another persons' secrets, no matter what the cost. It involves love, and I think it should involve equality, though it doesnt, really.
    • Intelligence: Being smart. Having common sense. You know how to act and when to act. You know what to do. You can percieve the matters at hand and analyze them quickly. Knowing what it right and wrong. Not listening to others bad ideas (like jumping off bridges).
    • Ambition: wanting something very badly. Going all out to get what you want. Dedication. Using your strengths to get what you want. *is utterly clueless when it comes to definitions*

  • Name: Shannon
  • Age: 14
  • Where did you find out about us?
I found out about the community over a year ago, joined, was unable to go online, was kicked out of the main community, but not out of this one, and was told to reapply or find my old application. I chose to reapply. More than likely I found you through a friend at the time.
