If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? I think people, businesses, and governments should care more about what is happening to the environment. We should be planning how to improve what we are in the process of destroying. And really, we are only making it worse for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. Things need to start changing soon.
What makes a person respectable? Honesty. I really dislike liars and having to put up with them. I know sometimes a little fib or white lie is necessary, but I'm talking about lying about really important things all the time. If people were more truthful, then maybe we would have a little more trust in everyone. As you can see, I have trust issues. lol
What do you look for in a friend? Above all else, a sense of humor. I love when people make me laugh. Other than that, someone who shares some common interests so we could hang out and do things together. But it is good to have some different interests as well because you might find out you enjoy something that you would have never tried on your own. Also, someone I could share secrets with and who I could just sit around with talking about things.
What are your hobbies? Going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, reading, horseback riding, swimming, ice skating, traveling, writing stories, going to baseball games, chatting, going to the movie theater, watching television, hanging out at the mall, and shopping.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? I used to volunteer when I was younger for CCD and NHS. I also donate blood as often as I can and am listed as an organ donor if anything should happen to me. I would definitely like to become involved somehow with charities when I pursue my career. Below I spoke more about this (under what I want to do for a living).
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? After I graduate college, I would LOVE to spend some time traveling. I have never left the US before, but I really want to visit England, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, go on safari in South Africa, and take a cruise to Alaska. I also want to do something important. Something I could point to and say "Wow, I did that."
Who is your role model? Derek Jeter. My favorite sport is baseball (It doesn't compare to Quidditch, of course, but then again what does?) and I admire the way he handles himself while playing the game and off the field. He worked extremely hard to get where he is today and he deserves all the benefits he is getting because of it. I think it is a lesson to everyone to do what they enjoy and stick with it no matter what criticism you might hear.
What trait most annoys you about other people? I really dislike when people are rude and lack manners. That definitely annoys me more than any other thing. Personally, I don't care if people act mean sometimes, but at least be polite. How hard is it to say please and thank you? That definitely annoys me more than anything else. After that, spelling errors. *cringe*
What do you want to do for a living? For my main career, I want to be the Community Relations Director for a professional baseball team. They set up player appearances and things like that. I enjoy writing and would love to perhaps write novels someday. I think I also would like to join up with the Red Cross. I like getting involved so I would be happy to travel to a danger zone and volunteer my time to help the people in need. I guess I would feel like I was actually accomplishing something, doing something to make a difference. If I decided to make disaster relief my career, I think working for FEMA would be interesting.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what
would you do? First I would go after whatever it was that attacked them if it was still around. Then I would check on my friend and call for help or I would take them with me to get help immediately if it was urgent. In the magic world, I would be sure to know some healing spells to hold my friend over until we found someone more experienced.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? If using one was the only way to defend myself, or a family member or close friend, then I would in a heartbeat. I certainly wouldn't feel bad for the person I was using it on if I did decide to use it.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
1. Determination - Once I get it in my head that I want to do something or get something, I make it a top priority. If it is important enough to me, I'll let practically nothing get in the way.
2. Fairness - Must be the Libra side of me. I always listen to both sides of an argument and do my best not to let personal thoughts interfere with my judgment.
3. Humor - I am not a jokester all the time, but sometimes I can be very humorous. I enjoy making my friends smile and laugh.
4. Sense of Adventure - I don't think I take unnecessary risks, but I like doing things I don't always know the outcome of. I love roller coasters, flying, and even something as simple as going out for a nighttime walk. I think where I want to travel also falls under this.
5. Intelligence - I have always done extremely well in school without having to try very hard, I enjoy reading for pleasure, and I am very good at giving advice to my friends.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
1. Perfectionist - (If you know anything about baseball, think Paul O'Neill's tantrums in the dugout.) I hold myself to very high standards and I always strive to do everything perfectly. I don't care when other people make mistakes, but I hate making them myself. I tend to get upset when I do.
2. Lack of Patience - I hate waiting for others or for something to happen. I usually want things to occur immediately.
3. Picky - I'm very picky. I just like things the way I like them. This goes for clothes, boyfriends, practically everything.
4. Hold grudges - I have a hard time letting things go. If something bothers me, I'll remember it for a while. I have a hard time forgiving people and trusting them again. Actually, I probably won't ever really trust them again. I also tend to take things to heart.
5. Lazy - I can be lazy at times. I love lying around watching tv or reading. The only time I'm really motivated is when I'm doing something I want to be doing.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Doing what you believe to be right without worrying about the consequences. A belief that doing something and failing is better than doing nothing in the first place. And it doesn't have to be life-threatening. It could be something as small as sticking up for a friend.
Loyalty: Remaining true to those you care about. This could be believing in whatever they stand for, even if they don't have the facts to back it up. It is all about trust. It is also knowing that they will always be there for you as you are for them. When you are loyal to someone, you don't easily lose faith in them even when others have their doubts.
Intelligence: This includes both book smarts and life smarts. Someone who is truly intelligent can learn from all around them - Books, Teachers, Family, Friends, Enemies... They have the common sense to learn through example. They also think before they act and do not make the same mistakes twice.
Ambition: Having a strong desire to get what you want out of life. Not all ambitious people are self-centered. A person could have ambition to cure cancer and heal millions of people, for no gain to himself. I admire people with strong ambition because it shows that they are passionate about life and do not take it for-granted.
