If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

If I could change one thing in the world it would be its growing apathy. Few people seem interested in being world changers and are willing to watch other people get things done rather than getting out there and experiencing life for themselves. I wish everybody would be willing to risk being foolish so that they could live vibrantly.

What makes a person respectable?

Following through with your beliefs, morals, and word make you a person one could respect. Even when you don’t agree with someone you can still respect their dedication to their ideals. However, there is a distinct difference in having respect for someone and being a respectable person. The object one is dedicated to also has to be considered when determining whether it’s respectable or not, as is the degree of dedication. Once your devotion turns into fanaticism and you begin forcing your beliefs on someone else you lose all credibility and respectability.

What do you look for in a friend?

All of my friends, while eclectic in personality, have one common quality. They all share a common belief system. As long as our “core” is the same it doesn’t really matter what other superficial interests we may or may not share.
Personally, I love to surround myself with people who bring laughter, insight, and growth to the friendship. They need to be willing to make a fool of themselves, experience the adventures life throws our way with resilience, and sit in silence when nothing needs to be said. I look for loyalty, depth of character, and vibrancy. I’m drawn to people who are vividly and passionately alive.

What are your hobbies?

I live to write. I tend to live in my own fantasy world rather than reality. My ability to easily lose myself in books probably doesn’t help either. However I do have some socially reaching qualities too! Volunteering with kids is a really passion of mine-especially kids with CP, MS, AIDS, and cancer since those are illnesses close to my heart. They laugh, even when I’m not funny-which seems more often than not.
Then, on the totally opposite side of the spectrum, I love any and all things chemistry. I’m fascinated by the Table of Elements {sad, I know} and blowing things up. My poor eyebrows are currently revolting against me and the flames.

Have or would you give time and money to a charity?

I do both. Money’s something I really don’t like, so if I’ve got it I want to give it away as fast as possible. I sponsor three awesome kids in Ethiopia whom I’ve actually gotten the opportunity to meet this fall. I’ve gotten to be involved in several different charity and volunteer groups that are just incredible. Knowing that you’re helping people by just being in their lives is such an amazing gift. Charity is a lifestyle that you can’t help but continue in once you’ve experienced it.

What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?

Since the fourth grade I’ve wanted to open an orphanage in Ethiopia for kids who’ve lost their parents to AIDS, and that’s what I most want to accomplish. I guess just knowing that I made somebody else’s life better.

Who is your role model?

My role model is a woman in my church named Holly Jo. She is an incredible mom, wife, and woman. I am so impressed with how she is raising her kids and how much she gives of herself. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for someone else. I respect her because she knows what she believes and lives out her beliefs in every area of her life. She doesn’t think she’s amazing, and that’s the most amazing thing about her.

What trait most annoys you about other people?

I hate when people are indecisive. If you’re given a choice you need to latch on to it like there’s no tomorrow! So many people aren’t given a choice that it seems ridiculous to me that, when given a choice, people would just sit on the fence and wait for the decision to be made for them. No one should ever accept someone else’s definition of their life.

What do you want to do for a living?

I’m planning on becoming a doctor so that I can open that orphanage I’ve always dreamed of! If worse comes to worse I’ll work in somebody else’s orphanage instead.

If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?

Smack-down would occur. I’ve got no problem with somebody getting on me, but you mess with my friends and I won’t tolerate it.

Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?

I think I might, depending on the circumstances. I’d never use the Imperius curse or the Cruciatus Curse, however I think I’d be willing to use the Killing Curse. If I were in a life or death situation I’d definitely contemplate using it. I mean-if somebody were about to kill my best friend I think I’d whip out a gun to protect him. Maybe I wouldn’t have enough anger behind the words, but I’d likely attempt it in a circumstance like that. But to protect myself, I wouldn’t. I probably have a disregard for my life that isn’t healthy.

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?

1) I’m fiercely loyal. If somebody I care about needs me I’ll drop anything to help them.
2) I’m vibrantly alive. {If you couldn’t tell, I love that word.} I don’t waste the life I have because I know what its like to have a doctor hand you a death sentence.
3) I love to laugh and make other people laugh. Life never becomes too serious with me when it doesn’t need to. I know when things need to be solemn, but I also know that joy should be a part of every day life.
4) I’m compassionate. I can feel the needs of people and act on them without worrying about looking like an idiot. I genuinely love and care for people deeply and don’t have a problem showing that.
5) I’m eclectic. One of my friends told me that I have the ability to fit in nowhere and everywhere. While I’m a generally random, kinda out there person, I’m still able to feel comfortable-and make other people feel comfortable-despite being totally out of my element.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Definitely got an assortment of these…
1) I guess first I’d have to say that I’m an all-or-nothing kinda girl. When I choose to do something I do it all the way even to the point of ridiculousness. There’s no real happy medium for me. My world is pretty black or white with no shades of gray to even consider.
2) I could definitely be considered a selfish person. I love being the center of everybody’s attention-playing storyteller extraordinaire every chance I get. Seriously, I could do parties and make a killing.
3) I’m too trusting of people. Because I’m a really transparent person I always assume that everybody else is transparent with me. Burnage in a major way more often than not.
4) I’m very opinionated. If there’s a side to be taken you can bet I’ve chosen one and will not budge as a general rule. And, once I get on something, I’ll research the heck out of it so that I can prove I’m right! I may respect your ability to choose, but I’ll still think I’m right.
5) I believe in things too deeply. Like I’ve said, I’m a really overzealous person, so I throw myself into things too fiercely until it gets to an extreme. It can really grate on people’s nerves in a major way. I know-they’ve told me.

Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Courage is being scared to death and doing it anyways.
Loyalty: Loyalty is dedication to someone so deep that they’re a part of you. You don’t just make choices based on yourself but also on their well-being.
Intelligence: Intelligence is knowledge in the all-encompassing way put to use. Possessing knowledge isn’t enough.
Ambition: Ambition is a zealous desire for something. It’s more than just wanting something-it’s a willingness to do anything it takes to get it.
