If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? First off, I would go to Africa and try my best to give them better medical care. AIDS is claiming too many lives, and it's unecessary. I would try to set up some kind of donation service at major cities all around the continent so that wealthier citizens could donate food and money and other charitable items so that they could be handed out to the many less fortunate others. I would also try to set up a service like this in several parts of Asia and also South America. I would like to change the racial problems that still exist today. If those didn't exist, so many of this world's problems would also disappear. I don't like the fact that because of the color of our skin, people feel the need to be hostile towards others.
What makes a person respectable? A person is respectable by how they treat others, and how open-minded they are to everyone's beliefs and opinions. I've always been told treat others how you wish to be treated, and I live by it. To have respect is to give respect. I believe that if you respect others opinions, religious beliefs, personal values, etc., that others will also respect yours.
What do you look for in a friend? I look for trustworthiness, loyalty, a great personality, a sense of humor, and intelligence. I don't want a friend who isn't trustworthy and who won't be loyal to me. I also want to have a friend who can make me laugh, and has a great personality. I don't want to have a friend that every moment with them is dull because they have no spark in their life; I want someone vibrant and full of life and energy, someone that I know every moment I spend with them will be one to remember. I despise ignorance, so of course intelligence comes into play. We're given a public education, and people should take advantage of that.
What are your hobbies? My favorite hobby has and always will be reading. I love curling up with a good book and reading for hours, and this is how most of my summer is spent. I play clarinet in band, but I can also play a little french horn, a little flute, and a little trombone. Music is a big part of my life, and another of my hobbies is listening to music. Rock and classical is basically all I listen to, and I don't listen to the radio often because I think they play too many commercials and they definitely overplay songs. I'm also an avid soccer player, and I enjoy playing volleyball and badminton as well.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? I've given lots of time to charity causes, and I love doing it. Every Christmas Eve I go with friends to the George R. Brown Convention Center where we hand out donations of clothes and toys to families who are homeless or less fortunate than others. Lunch/dinner is also served. I usually help hand out clothes, and last year I handed out toys. I've also donated old clothes and toys to places such as Goodwill. As I grow older I would like to help out the less fortunate in Africa, Asia, and South America. (Refer to first question.)
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? My biggest goal in life is to one day serve in Congress. I would like to work in international law. I've always wanted to do something in law, and a chance at getting to serve in Congress would be the ultimate wish come true. Another huge goal of mine is to one day become President. Huge wish, but I think if I work hard enough it could possibly happen. Nothing's impossible if you put your mind to it. =)
Who is your role model? My role model is my section leader and band big sister Mary Nwosoucha. When I first arrived at high school and marching band she always told me that if I ever needed help she would help me, and at the first instant I thought that was the nicest thing. Throughout marching band she was strong for our section and led us well; so well, in fact, that everyone said the clarinet section was the best it's been in years. She pushed us to do our best, and it really showed in us. I respect her so much for that; I still do. Throughout this year she's helped me through areas of high school, and not too many seniors help out freshmen as much as she's helped me out. She's also a very sweet person, and she does really caring things for other people. She has also inspired me to really try to achieve my goals, and she tells me constantly I should go for them. Without her, my first year at high school would definitely have not been as fun.
What trait most annoys you about other people? As stated earlier, ignorance. I absolutely despise when people start talking about something that they have no clue what they're even talking about. Like I said, we're given a public education, and our parents pay tax dollars to go towards these schools, so everyone should take advantage of this and get as much education as they can. And it really looks bad when someone is ignorant and immature. Then I feel they need a good slap upside the head to set them straight.
What do you want to do for a living? I hopefully will go to law school to become a lawyer. Then I hope to later on in life be able to serve in Congress and do things in international law. I also hope to be something of a philanthropist by helping out those in Africa, Asia, and South America. (Refer to first question.) But if for some odd reason these don't work out, a career in marine biology is a good fall-back.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? First I would see if it was something I could get control of. If it was, I'd take control of the situation and attack at whatever it may be that's attacking my friend. If it was something I could not control, I would immediantely seek help from someone more experienced.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? First of all, some of the other things besides just the Unforgivable Curses could harm someone much more. Combine a few curses and you can get some pretty nasty results. But, if for any reason I felt if would be the only choice, and the only choice, to save someone's life, then yes I would.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
1. I'm a complete nerd. Not trying to brag, but I'm a very intelligent person, and I'm constantly trying to learn more. I'm always researching things because I love to learn. Especially about science.
2. I'm a very hard worker. Yes, I do procrastinate sometimes, but when I have a huge project to do I put 110% into it, even if I don't like the project. I'm always trying to work my hardest in everything I do, and not just schoolwork. I put 110% into sports and marching band, also. This will come in handy for all of my many goals in life, because I know I'll have to work hard towards them.
3. I'm an excellent debater. Yes, I do argue a lot with family members, teachers, and sometimes I debate with friends for fun. But, it will help me later on in life because I want to be a lawyer, so I'm developing my skill in debating now. I'm also joining the speech and debate team next year, and in senior year I hope to join Con Law.
4. I'm a very humorous person. I love to make people laugh, and I love to see people smile. I do many crazy things just to cheer someone up when they're down because I don't like it when people are sad or depressed. I like to talk to people to see how they're doing, and I'm constantly telling jokes just so my friends can laugh.
5. My ability to listen. Sure, I do a lot of talking, but I'm also a great listener. I love listening to music, but I also love listening to my friends. Just to hear about their day is one of those nice things in life. I also love listening to problems they may have, and I love to help. I'm a great advice giver, and I like to help people out of rough spots.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
1. My argumentativeness. It's a great quality about me, but it is also my biggest weakness. I argue about almost everything; sometimes I argue just because I feel like it. Someone once told me that if I stood next to a fence post long enough I'd probably start arguing with it also.
2. My need to always be right. This is definitely one of my largest weaknesses. Whenever in an argument or debate, I have a need to always be right. Sure, when I'm wrong, I'll back down, but not without a good argument. I also just generally have a want to always be right every day in life. It does sometimes get me into trouble.
3. I'm very stubborn. And about almost everything. Once I've formed an opinion, it's very hard to get me to change it. I'm also very stubborn about doing things I don't want to do, and will put up a fight if you try to make me do it.
4. I'm not always a very sympathetic person. Some people are always saying, "Oh, that's too bad," or, "Aw, I'm so sorry to hear that," but unless it's something completely heartwrenching I probably won't be totally sympathetic towards someone. Many people have called me cold-hearted, but in honesty I'm not. I'm just not as sappy and "girly" as so many others.
5. I'm a perfectionist. If I don't think something is done right usually I'll complain about it for a little while and then I'll go change it. I don't like when things aren't done right and I'm a very, very organized person. Everything in my room has it's own little place and it can't go anywhere else. Some people would call this a great quality.. but it can really get in the way sometimes.
