I really like Welcome and Magical studies. I don't think it's a problem that "welcome" is outlined. I think the quilt idea is great, too. Navy, brown and tan sound good for Stoic. Shades of brown might work, too, but it'd be kind of dull. I don't know about beauty, it'd be hard to get a unified opinion on that I think.

Yay thanks, glad you like 'em! I'm thinking I will go with navy, brown and tan....cuz I agree with you, monochromatic just seems dull. I am going to have to use monochromatic for something, but if I don't use it for this one it will end up being for "quiet" which I think will work well. And I totally know what you mean about beauty, I was having a hard time defining my idea of beauty.

Thanks for the opinions! :)

Man, I really like the magical one. It's so good---I don't even really need the word there to get the idea that it's magical. Spiffy!

And the welcome one is pretty successful too. The colors remind me of babies, so I read it as a "welcome to the world" type of thing. I did notice your outlining though (before I read your actual entry, hehe), and I actually really like the outlining! At least the way you did it in welcome, it's subtle enough so that it's not in your face, but at the same time, it stands out enough so that the words don't get lost in the pale colors. It's good. Yeah.. outlining = thumbs up. I'd be curious to see what it looked like on a color design where the colors weren't so pale..

Stoic sounds pretty tricky...You have a point about picking solid and heavy colors, but then again, navy blue, brown and tan start to sound almost earth-y to me? Dunno, it'll be interesting to see where you take it.

:D yey!

Yay, thanks! I'm glad you think so because nobody commented on it in our critique so I haven't gotten much feedback on them.

And yay, I'm glad you like the outlining. I might see what it looks like on the darker ones that don't need it, but I suspect I'm going to end up only doing it on the light ones.

Hmm, yeah, that is pretty earthy. If I do that I'll have to make sure the navy is a pretty saturated one, I think that will keep it from looking *too* earthy. And also the last color study we have to do is "organic" which I suspect a lot of people will do earth tones for, and I'm not going to go that route with that. I'm going to do green, purple, and orange so that it looks like flowers in the jungle for a much more tropical interpretation of organic. So at least that way I won't have two earthy ones. Which I'm kinda worried about with "beauty" because if I do pale pink, blue, and yellow then it's soooo close to what I did for "welcoming." Argh I dunno.
