Ha ha ha ha! Thank you. I really felt like we all were graduating, in a sense. Ray and I were way more supportive of her than my parents were of me, although that's not saying much. :-/
We have the Indigo Bunting down here, but they only migrate through in the winter months and they are usually gone by April at the latest. I agree, they are brilliant and beautiful. Also migrating along with them are the Painted Buntings, so keep your eye out for them, too. They are all different bright colors.
Yes, I would take that as a good omen or sign. Congratulations to Emily upon her graduation.
I had to remind myself to breathe, it was so unexpected. I read up on it, and it's weird. They have no actual blue pigment; they're black, and it's a trick of the light passing through their feathers, which makes them that glowing color.
