It is not fun getting old. I don't think I will ever be one of those women who positively glows and says how wonderful it is aging, and how I feel wiser and better than ever. No.

I'm having a hard time with this transition, but I'm highly motivated. I look at my neighbor Sally and think, dear God, I don't want to be like her. It's not okay not to be able to walk much at all. I can make my life better. It's not vanity - I don't care how I look, really - but it's mobility and independence.
