Crap, and plenty of it...

I don't often get headaches, in fact they're so rare for me, I don't know what works for one of mine, really.  Weird, I know.  So it was especially discomfitting that I woke up with one today.  Plus iffy stomach, just for fun.  Yuck.  I had trouble doing anything, but I kept trying.  My eyes were so light-sensitive I wore sunglasses until noon.  ( Read more... )

There are people around here with that amount of junk in their yards/garages etc. The stupid thing is, we have a general junk rubbish collection every year - and it's free! Why would you hold onto it? I'm guessing there's a deeper reason there than just laziness (or maybe they're too lazy to haul the stuff from the yard to the verge!)

I hope you're feeling better now.

Thank you for the latter part of your comment. Yup, I can actually go outside without sunglasses today. I don't like to do it, it's not really comfy, but for a couple of seconds it's okay.

Re: the people who hold onto crap, I think it's a disease, honestly. The woman across the street who "gardens"? She has bags of topsoil and mulch lying on the ground. Broken open six inches or so. There are weeds sprouting in the openings.

I suspect in her case, she's such a mess mentally she doesn't see what's wrong with the picture. When her son lived at home (I haven't seen him around in a while, and rumor has it he dropped out of high school), she used to scream at him in a way that made me feel like I should do an intervention, tell her how to get help. But the whole family is pretty broken. The adult male (I don't know if they're married) once admitted to neighbor he doesn't know what all is in his back yard, as he hasn't been out there in three years. Yeah. It's sad.

It is a disease, yeah.. There are researchers who specialize in it. I think one of them is at Smith, up the road from me.

Thank you, sweetheart, it was almost gone this morning. Just the faintest trace of pain.

Thanks for that wish.
