the luminaries / too much to read

I requested The Luminaries, by Eleanor Catton, from the library, in hopes of reading it for a book club. The library was swamped with requests for it, so I had to wait many weeks and the book club has long since read and discussed it, but my turn finally came up and I now have the ebook version

It doesn't help that I'm deep into 2 different TV series, so I have several seasons worth of those story lines in my head. I wonder how many pages that would be, in books? Also streaming things on Netflix is much easier on my hands than reading, and my hands are very limited in how much they can do.

I can send you the epub for The Luminaries if you want - like to keep. I tried to read it but she writes in a way I absolutely hate, so gave up on it about 20 pages in - not my thing at all. But yeah, if you want, send me an email at jlmcnair at gmail dot com and I will email you the epub.

I managed to read the first page or two and was not getting any traction. I think (for me) it will be the sort of book that I have to be in the right space to read, rather than a book that makes itself the right space. :/
