making do

Well, my Friday night date fell through, so I'm consoling myself with make-over shows on television. Would someone please nominate me for TLC's What Not to Wear? That sounds like a great book. I've put it on my reading list. I'm in the middle of two series right now, (The Chronicles of Narnia and The Wrinkle in Time series) then I have a couple of others that have been recommended to me, then JS and MN is next.

I love to get sucked into an alternate universe as well. Even with 2 brothers and a sister I grew up lonely, and found books to be my best companions. (How very cliche, but true.)

I loved the Wrinkle in Time books when I was younger. I've been curious to re-read them as an adult, to see if they hold up to my memory of them. I liked the Narnia books as well, but when I reread them a few years ago I found them over-done.

Have you read the Earthsea trilogy? Okay, so there are actually five or six of them now, but I'm referring to the original three: Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, and The Farthest Shore? To this day they remain some of my favorite books. I reread them every year or two.
