There's a wish I send into the universe when fire trucks or ambulances go by, for the people they will be helping: May their day get better soonI find the perspective useful. When I think about the sort of day that person is having, and what that entails, and suddenly my day is going fairly well. I am not a person needing emergency vehicles

I do the same thing to try to remind myself not to be impatient when traffic is backed up: 'someone is having a worse night than I am, I can sit for a bit.'
