Some interesting news: a body that matches the description of Richard III has been unearthed in what used to be the Greyfriars churchyard, where he was buried.
Pity that (according to The Times today at any rate) the Queen has apparently ruled out a burial at Westminster or Windsor.
Where do people here think would be best? The Times suggests York Minster, given that he was much loved there: ("King Richard, late mercifully reigning upon us, was through great treason slain and murdered to the great heaviness of this city"). I'm rather inclined to feel that his own parish church of Middleham, that he and his wife endowed and obviously cared a lot for, might be the most appropriate place if he's not to be allowed to be buried next to her.
I actually screamed and punched the air when I saw the news on Wednesday morning. Er, that is, I'm quite pleased about it - I never dreamed they would actually find him.
