Going One Way (1/1)

Kinda ran out of steam on this one, and this is probably the last Who fic you'll be seeing from me for a good long while. (Although I might be able to get it up for Four/Romana II. Because seriously.) And Russell, if you'd like to follow suit and spend some time in a shack this summer working on your dialogue and characterization, you'll get no ( Read more... )

I really liked this, good characterization and an interesting idea well played out.

"It's just - the thing about time, Rose, the thing about time is that no matter how much you travel through it, backwards or forwards, you're still really only going one way. That's just how it works."

Loved this bit, because that's where the Doctor and his companions are on level ground. No one is more powerful than time. I love that you can feel his helplessness in these sentences.

Really, really enjoyed this.

Thank you so much! :) Your long comment made me very happy.

I'm especially glad you liked that line ... I was really hoping it would work.

Thanks again!

Oh, how sad. He's desperately trying to save her, isn't he? Lovely characterizations, too.

Oh, I really love this. Your Ten characterization is really great. Beneath all his happy-go-lucky goofiness was this desperate need to hold onto Rose and keep her safe, and I think you did a great job of conveying that.

I love the idea that, just this once, the Doctor'll hide away and let the universe fend for itself, all for the sake of protecting Rose and spending whatever time he can with her.

And Russell, if you'd like to follow suit and spend some time in a shack this summer working on your dialogue and characterization, you'll get no complaints from me.

I'll chip in to help buy the shack.

LOL. I love you.

And I'm really REALLY glad you liked this! I was afraid it was too corny, that I rushed it -- I dunno, I had a lot of concerns. But thank you so much for the encouraging comment. :)

Frances, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Nobody gets this excited about my fic. I'm just so pleased you like it. <3333333!!!!

Your comment replays in my head every time I think about Ten/Rose. I'll go back to them. I was just ... having a Bad Fandom Moment.

I want to believe that they had time together to just BE before they were viciously torn apart by alternate universes.

ME TOO. MAYBE IT'S CORNY; WHATEVER. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING!!!!!!

how fucked up is it that the Doctor's way to deal with his abandonment issues is to leave his companions behind before THEY can decide to leave HIM behind?

HAHAHA. That's mostly how I deal with my issues. I just mentioned this to one of my friends the other day -- I was like, "I'm getting really close with this group of people and I love them a lot, so probably I will cut them off before they have a chance to realize they don't like me. Seems healthy, right?"

And I am so glad I was able to provide exactly what you needed. Even if it was several weeks ago. <3
