It's cold (except for the other half of the office, where it's too warm to be endured) and I have a headache and cramps, so this has much improved my day. If only this came packaged with a bar of chocolate. Y'all should work on that for the next chapter. [grin]

I'm glad to see this back, and I'm with jascott about the DOOM that is approaching.

Now I'm going to be a huge sap and wish that JfD would get over it and let KB in after this whole thing is over. Hearing that he didn't want to go back to LA hurt, and then of course so did the discovery that KB got shot with some creepy series of men around.

Wheeeeeeee! I get ridiculously excited every time I see a chapter of this. It's been so long! Ok,

a) I giggle every time I read the words "Tom Cruise" in this story.
b) I'm so very scared for Josh and Jason
c) SO INTENSE:
She stares at him, not understanding. "Wh-what do you--?"

"When this is... done. When we're finished--" He takes a deep breath, stares her straight in the eyes. "I don't want to go back to L.A.; I want to go home with you."

The words stun her, and the power of them actually sends her stumbling backwards a step, mind reeling.

In their mutual silence, there’s the sudden snap of a twig cracking under someone’s boot.

The sound cuts her to the bone.
