I will look on K's bookshelf later for the book I bought her on puberty. Before I bought that though, I did borrow a couple from the library. She had no interest in discussing any of it with me, but all ready knew about periods as I get zero privacy when using the bathroom even now.

We got "Let's Talk About Where Babies Come From" (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1844281736/ref=oh_details_o00_s02_i05?ie=UTF8&psc=1) when YoungBloke was 7 and asking that particular question. We've just returned to it as he's started asking about what puberty is and when he'll "get it". He is quite interested in the whole thing (we had to put our feet down firmly and explain that there was never going to be a time when he could watch us have sex even if he was interested...) and also understands periods since we only have one loo, in the bathroom, and limited privacy (like Tiggsybabes!), and I use a cup, so he's seen it around for years.

The Irish Crisis Pregnancy Agency has a lovely booklet you can download which is a great introduction to all sorts of aspects - reproduction, puberty, gender, sexuality.
