Is it Cold in Here?

The weather in the northeast has been much more nippy then usual. Generally I try to wait as long as I can before turning the heat up. There’s only a few months a year I can get away with saving a few bucks instead of forking the money over to PSG&E, and I milk it for all it’s worth ( Read more... )

Ummm...I think that if you've seen that many...you should find the rest & just complete the list! :)
You haven't seen Se7en? Disturbing, but very good. Leon (aka The Professional) is excellent! Natalie Portman's 1st film & Jean Reno is HOT!

Anything previous to 1970 I pretty much owe to my mother. It wasn't uncommon for her to wake me up in the middle of the night to watch an old Susan Hayward (among others) movie with her. I'll always love the magic of those films.

Some movies are more then they appear the first time you watch them. They can grow when you watch them with others or are influenced by factors outside of the films themselves. For example, I really don't like "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" by Eastwood.

Because I really don't like Clint Eastwood.

However, I recently took a class on film and it opened things up for me a little. So much can depend on what you bring to the film, as much as what the film brings to you.

I hope that made some kind of sense....

I used to watch movies a lot more than I do now.
A college class on film altered my perspectives, too, as well as exposing me to many films I'd never have seen on my own, such as Seven Samurai (which was voted the favorite of all the films we'd seen!).

It's like finding hidden treasure finding a film that you hadn't been aware of before. I'd love to take another similar class....

Heh. I may need to borrow that icon. My daughter asked to have her room a little warmer at night.

I gave her an extra flannel sheet and blanket.

I love your practical approach! I did turn up the heat a bit last night. It must have helped because she slept in a hoodie sweatshirt this time.....

I'm not sure how old your son is, but my son's room has that indefinable "ambiance" of teenage boy.

It’s a combination of essence of testosterone, dirty laundry, empty soda cans, candy wrappers and dirty dishes.

If he’s not a teenager yet you might want to consider purchasing a gas mask in preparation.

13 1/2 going on 17!

And oh yes, I know that smell. It's there even when he hasn't been in the room for a week or so. I'm sure it has to be a boy thing, I *know* I never smelt at that age.

And he stays in the shower for hours at a time every day.
