This line says a great deal about the kind of person you are:
"I paid my friend's mom monthly payments on a 2000 Chevy Malibu, despite how tight money was because I knew it was the right thing to do. "
I know a lot of people who would just say "But it isn't fair what everyone has done to ME (me, me, me) I shouldn't have to pay, they should, etc."
See, selfishness may seem to be a strong 'take no shit' trait, but in actuality it is very weak. This just proves you can push yourself to rise above the less than comforting cards you've been handed by going the extra mile and enduring. That is what strength is, having to take shit - to STILL rise above. And it's amazing how warm spirited you seem to actually be, through & through.
You're a fighter I see, I value that trait highly. (And not a fighter in the wrong direction either.) Thanks for sharing your impressive story.
I have never really taken the time to reflect, on a grand level, how unselfish I actually am. In other avenues of my life, I may engage in some selfish behavior; everyone does it. But you're right -- I have never expected anyone to just give me anything. I've never felt like I'm entitled to something just because I think so. I don't think I'd want to have everything handed to me; I am content having learned all of the life lessons I have because it has made me stronger and more equipped to deal with issues in the future.
Definitely a fighter, and I thank you for seeing that in me.
Ahhh there are so many comments I could leave to this (all good) so I'll spare you and just say "You go girl!!!"
And I'm sorry about those that try and get you down. For the whole time I've "known" you, you've seemed to have haters and try as I might I have NEVER been able to figure out why. lol
I've theorized a lot on the subject, and I've found that most of the people who dislike me do it because I have self-confidence and ambition to move forward, which are things they are lacking. I'm not one of those people who thinks that everyone is jealous of them, but I've found that the most of worst enemies I've had in the past were.
