We don't even remotely prepare for hurricanes except to stock up on water, batteries, & candles. (Which doesn't really count because we always have that stuff handy) No food. But theres a Winn Dixie like fifteen minutes from our apartment and tons of fast food places.

When Charley hit, we were not prepared for it at all. No shutters, nada. Thankfully nothing happened to us, but the houses surrounding mine were all damaged. We had to help our neighbor out of their closet in the master bedroom because the roof caved in the living room.

We lived here during Andrew but we didn't really get much from that where we were at the time, which was basically like a little tiny bit north of West Palm Beach.
My brother was here during Wilma, there entire apartment was flooded so bad they had to throw away all there furniture and electronic stuff from the water damage. I think like one lamp managed to live. They were in one those downstairs half-embedded in cement places.
