LOL wow. Well im super impressed. I'm new to cooking and will only do really forgiving things. Baking is out of the question for the moment...

(little story: one time i was making cookies from scratch, miss read the recepie and used 3/4 CUP of salt instead of Tablespoon! ... it did not occur to me at the time that this was WRONG. my cookies came out hard as rock and all crystaly. have not baked since. lol)

The pie looks amazing ~~~ and the last part about not eating the custard made me lol really hard because one time i was trying to make home made icecream but i could not for the life of me get it to firm up... so i decided to just drink it... tasted delicious.... about an hour later i was puking it up XD so ya... don't eat the custard.

The crostata looks delicious!

What type of pan were you baking the cake in? Maybe the outside is cooking faster than the inside resulting in cake failure? I kniw some cakes you need to leave the pan ungreased or ekse it collapses as it needs the "stick" to riae properly.

I wonder if rice or almond milk would so better than soy on the custard? I'm sorry the srubbornky uncooked cuatard made you so sick!
