that sucks... where are you looking? there have to be other listings. also, i guess it depends on your budget, but why not get a small apartment? i hate living w/roomates.
I'd love to live on my own, but having my own apartment in socal just isn't in my budget. :( I'm already going to have to pay more just to rent a room somewhere in a small town in California than I pay for having my own beautiful studio apartment 30 minutes outside of Tokyo in Japan.
I've been looking on roommate finder websites and craigslist!
Well, as a woman I can perfectly understand not wanting to live with a man I don't know. (And even then, there's still a lot of trust there I have to build.) But the second points? WTF? What if you're self employed and work from home via the computer? I'm thinking of my publishing job here. It's completely done on my laptop. (That reminds me, I should back shit up.)I mean, uh, I guess I could go to starbucks all day but...
Basically, sounds like they don't want to actually be around people. That's real encouraging.
Hope you find someplace soon. Is it in Oregon? I've been looking at places to move to in PDX, and I can find is the Yards which has awful management reviews. Meh.
Like I said, I can understand why women wouldn't necessarily want dudes, but when seriously 90% of the housing ads ALL say "NO MEN," it gets really fucking frustrating.
It's in California, unfortunately, for school. If it were Oregon, I'd definitely be able to find a place!
I hope you find some reasonable, cool people to live with sometime soon. Or find an apartment that you can rent on your own, otherwise! It sucks that people are so exclusionary.
Honestly, with this being southern California, even if I find a place, I am not expecting to get along with or have anything in common with my roommates. Everybody there seems to have completely different values and interests than I do. :/
I would love to have my own place, but unfortunately I just can't afford it.
Hey, don't mean to seem random here, but where are you looking (just county wise if you don't feel comfortable disclosing the city)? I'm trying to find a roommate here in SoCal, but I keep getting scammers rawr. I'm renting a condo and I'd love to live with another pkmncollector haha
