I'd never heard of The Rays before this week, but I am a supporter of the underdog. Plus, my mother lived in St. Petersburg for 5 years, so there's a connection there.

A lot of people had never heard of the Rays. You don't get much press-even the howntown variety-when you finish dead last in the division every year.

Definitely a connection there, now all you need to do is get you a mohawk and a cow bell and you'll be a card carrying Rays fan.
