Beware!!! "New" champion's path boxes on market

Dec 13, 2020 15:31

Here's the story. Last week I decided to purchase a Champion's Path elite trainer box. I found lots of them listed at $65-$75 price range and I bought one of those on Mercari just because I had a $10 coupon expiring soon. Look at the listing's pictures, they look nothing special: sealed box, neat and beautiful.

Omg these people are just the worst! I have been seeing so much of this crap going on that my boyfriend gave up card collecting and just sold his whole collection! I am so sorry that happened to you and I'd fight it to the end to get all my money back! That person is a piece of you know what. But yeah, he should try better next time to be a better scammer! Ridiculous!!

I used to collect the cards I really like, but since shiny GX came out the prices got more and more ridiculous, I'm thinking of quitting collecting cards now.

Omg I know!! I got out of collecting at the wrong time and ended up selling some cards that are worth like 10 times what I sold them for. I'd say if you're gonna get out of it I'd do it now while the hype is up. But yeah, it's a depressing time for personal card collectors! All these resellers are just killing the hobby!

Wow that's awful! I hope you can get your money back. I now feel really lucky that I managed to get my sets. I hate that these kind of people exist, I lost out on pre-ordering the Shining Fates tins due to bots and scalpers ;..;

I didn't manage to preorder shining fates, it's sold out everywhere :(
The market is making me quit collecting cards I think.

You might still be able to pre-order Shining Fates in-store at Gamestop! I pre-ordered some today along with the mini tins that were restocked on their site.

I'm super afraid of this happening! Especially since I bought my husband and I a sealed case (36 packs) of XY Evolutions for Christmas. It is sealed and had pokemon clear wrap so I'm confident it's real but I'm going to film him opening it incase of fraud. :(

Do you know if people are doing this with individual packs as well?

The XY cards will be safer I guess, taking video is also a good practice. Good luck!

That's horrid! I haven't bought in ages, but I've been on the other end where people think I'm scamming because of scum like these folks.

Did you contacted the seller?? People like that need to respond for their BS. Definitely leave a bad review on mercari stating why because that is really the only way to let others know this person is a scammer.

Mercari does not give me the option to leave feedback on returned item and cancelled orders. I've had bad experience with not only this seller but another one who cancelled my order without a word, relisted at higher price and "reserved" for someone else. I sent email to customer services but never got any reply. And I didn't have the option to rate that greedy seller.
