Bizarre TOMY Figure Showcase

Feb 28, 2016 19:35

Okay, so I've had this bizarre game from Japan for many years now (I made a post about it on an old account back in 2011!) but I figured there's no reason to keep holding off showing this to you guys, so let's dive right in.

Feast your eyes! )

weavile, mime jr, pikachu, lucario, eevee

They are officially licensed by TOMY, but the stamp on the un-painted figures is a bit different than it usually is on regular tomy figures. Instead of being imprinted, it's stamped on in a dark purple color. Here's a picture as an example:

Thank you for sharing is the plastic the same as the color tomy figures? Or is it more light when it comes to weight of the figures ?

I'd say the plastic is the same, and these figures are quite glossy in person. Also they seem to be about the same weight as a standard TOMY figure, maybe just the tiniest bit lighter.

If you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer.

Nice to see the game piece that these figures come with! For a while I thought the lilac figures were tomy prototypes (in fact, iirc I saw a yahoo answers-esque Japanese site with this info a while back), but they are indeed just game pieces.
I would be super interested in Weavile and maybe Lucario if you do decide to sell. idk if I have much to trade though!

I originally thought they were prototypes too!! I got this at an import shop and he was originally selling the bag of figures only, I bought them, and when I went in about a week later he mentioned that they were game pieces that I had bought and sold me the rest of the game. :)

I can totally understand that you would want the individual figures, but right now I'm only interested in selling the game + pieces altogether, if anything.

Awesome! I got the Lucario figure a while back and had heard it was part of a larger game, but couldn't find anything about what the game looked like as a whole. I was always pretty curious, so thank you for showing this off and helping me learn more. It's a very interesting and odd game ^^

I'm so glad this information was helpful!! I really can't believe I waited so long to post about it.

Now I'm kind of hoping more of these games pop up in the future so people can get the figures!

I see the unpainted figures come up from time to time. Their prices vary soooo wildly. I think it's just false-prototype fever over and over. I think it's super cool that the painted figures it comes with are in unique poses. That almost makes them more desirable than the unpainted ones! But less easy to spot.
