WANTED: Custom full costume commission + SALES

Feb 05, 2016 12:57

Hey everyone~
I already got my Halloween costume for this year set up (yes I know it's still February, this is how I roll :V), but future years/cons are definitely still on the prospect. I'd love any help finding someone reliable who can do commissions on a full-body costume/cosplay of either Lucario or Charizard (heavily leaning towards Lucario ( Read more... )

You'd probably be better off buying the $250 one off eBay and fixing it up if you're worried about price, aha. Done custom would likely be in the price rang of a fursuit even if you didn't go through an actual fursuit maker. Full body costumes require a lot of materials and time~
The only other "cheaper" option (but it's still probably be a few hundred) I could think of is getting a custom kigurumi. You'd just have to find a maker open to get you one. Or there might be pre-made ones possibly? Lucario is a more popular Pokemon, so..
And it's better to look sooner rather than later, cosplay/costume/etc makers sometimes have things booked up months to a year or more in advance.

yeah that's what I'm likely to do in the end, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone else was willing to do anyway. The $250 one would be an easy use of eBay currency I've got saved up anyway. I've already got a kigurumi that I use once in a while but it definitely doesn't have any of the feel of the full-body lucario I'm looking to do. I'm not in a particular rush either since I was initially hoping to use it for Halloween this year, but I've already got something else set up for it instead XD Thanks for the notes!!

A full custom suit would run you $2000+ depending on the maker, no matter what types of cheap or expensive fabrics are used. You're rather off getting the $250 one unless you wanna toss another $1750+ out there.

As a fursuit maker myself I agree with everyone else, if your only looking to spend around $200-$300 then your better off with the Ebay options. You may be able to get a custom head for around that price depending on the maker but if your looking for a full body suit the cheapest youd get custom wise would probably be in the thousands. If you think about it its one of the most unique and personal things you could ever get for yourself while also making it a part of your Pokemon collection, but if you just want one for Halloween uses then the Ebay suits will probably be fine :>

If your ever looking for a more professional option though and want to get into suiting feel free to message me! I would be willing to give discounts for suits in exchange for pokemon merch. The only thing with me is that I dont make fullsuits, only partials and occasionally digigrade legs. If youd like a website for more info I have one here:

I said my budget was limited but just because the $250 suit is there doesn't mean I'd spend that low for a custom lolol, I'd easily spend a thousand if I could get the full quality XD; It's the 2-3k portion that I don't have the budget for. I'd want the arms to be like extended gloves anyway so I could take them off when I need to like... eat lulz
Your idea about just getting parts might work though, if I could mix in parts of the $250 one with a better body I might just do that :D

Says your quotes are closed lol xD Well then again it'd be a while before I get into this, probably. I barely even have the space to keep the lucario suit around, not until I get my own place for real T_T But pokemerch discounts sounds nice too :3 Thanks so much!

Oh I see I see! Well if you went to a suit maker asking for the suit to be made of fleece or minky instead of fur you could get someone to make it for you for around $1,000 if that is what you would want to do instead! I am experienced in working with both of those materials and I could add in any features you may want (like removable gloves or hidden slots where you can stick your hands out to grab things ( ... )

On gosh yes!! :) I'm actually really impressed with the quality in your work!! and someone from this comm itself would be a cool honor in ways, and also great as fellow pokemon fans XD. The more I think about it the more I think I might as well go for a custom full suit with fleece /minky :D the features you mention are definitely something I'd go for too, since I would definitely be up for hanging around in the suit for entire conventions and any convenience would be a great help XD I'd love to get your Guinea pig price whenever you have a chance if that's all right with you? I'd need to send you my measurements~ I suppose if you prefer we move this over to email or something that's fine with me too! My email is splash@pmsinfirm.org

As I mentioned there's pretty much no deadline especially since I barely have space with my current living situation anyway (finding good housing in California is craaaaaaazy), but I'd find a way to get a lucario suit to stay with me no matter what whenever it comes hahaha.

I'm outside your price range but dang if a Lucario suit wouldn't be cool to make xD Made a Manectric partial suit several years ago: http://lobitaworks.deviantart.com/art/Manectric-Partial-Suit-324999890
