Four years anniversary: Collection Update + Re-Intro!

May 04, 2013 22:14

So, somehow, it's been four years since I joined Pokemon Collectors!  I don't remember my exact join date, but I posted my introduction back in August 2009 and I remember that I had been lurking on the community for some time before then. :D ( Read more... )

Such a lovely collection! (THAT GULPIN!!! Kya! So cute!) Every picture just made it better and better. And I'm so happy you like Pokémon Adventures, I work on the English version, so whenever I see someone saying they like it, it makes me so happy and makes me want to work harder on it!

Thanks! Gulpin is definitely one of my favorite plush (possibly even my favorite-favorite, hm...) because he's just so fun to squeeze.

And thank YOU for helping make Pokemon Adventures possible in the US! What kind of work do you do on it? I remember being so excited when I heard that Viz was publishing it again. :D (Also, please tell they are planning on releasing the FRLG arc in the US... it's so weird that they're jumping from R/S to HG/SS! @_@)

I do the lettering and touch-up art on it (not all volumes, I didn't do any of the Red/Blue/Green or Black/White, and I only did a couple volumes of Yellow). Basically, I'm given the Japanese pages and a script and I take all the Japanese off the pages and replace it with English text and sound effects. I SO know what you mean, I was SO giddy when I heard, and then when I got to work on it I freaked out!!

I don't know about FR/LG though, sorry. HG/SS coming out all of a sudden is a big surprise to me too. I think it'll all be out before R/S finishes, even. I can only assume that if the series sells well, Viz will put out as much as possible. It would make me sad if we ended up skipping FR/LG or Emerald!! Sorry for being no help with your question. U_U;;

Goodness! Such cute ghosties. I also recently decided to collect Halloween themed merch (though only the ones featuring ghosts). I've never seen the figures of Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar with the pumpkins before; were those also commissioned? Who made them?

Oh, and Link would be one of my favorites too :P (though I mostly only collect smaller Zelda figures for a shadowbox).

You can see better images of the figures on my website: http://pyreembers.weebly.com/haunter-line.html
Winterjellybean (formerly known as jirachi_chan6) made them! She makes wonderful Pokemon+Dessert figures and makes posts for commissions fairly often!

Oh, well, I didn't mean it THAT way, about Link...... I really like my Link figure too, I just happened to be more focused on the Birthday Pikachu card at the time haha.

ahhhh Pidgey was your first card too? So was mine! Funny story about it, I was in the 4th grade and I was in the cafeteria and the boy next to me was short 10c for an ice cream and I gave him a dime and he thanked me and gave me a Pidgey. I know it was the most common card out there but I really treasured it, like wow my first Pokemon card!

But anyway I love your collection ;u; You have such nice displays for everything, my favorite is your Litwick line! Such pretty clearfiles too uvu
Oh and love your Hetalia stuff too XD

That is such an adorable story! :D Do you still have your Pidgey? I don't think I could ever be "definite" enough about a design to get a tattoo, but assuming I did, I'd get a tattoo of Pidgey because it means so much to me. :)

You've got some pretty cool plush there, which one is your favorite?

Also, I'm super jelly of the Gulpin cushion and DAT CHANSEY plush!

THAT IS A HARD QUESTION! Assuming I can pick a few... Pokemon Time Gulpin (best hugging and squishing buddy), Hasbro Cyndaquil (I saw it on ebay and was pining away for it before I started collecting, and my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas), and Slowpoke pokedoll (every time I filled out the community census, I put down Slowpoke as my most wanted pokedoll... and then it happened and I was super happy!). :D

ahhhh Grabby hands at your rare clearfiles!

Btw, is the Kanto clearfile beside the Slowpoke official? I've never seen it before! It must be really old and rare! :D

This is kind of a dumb question, but which ones do you consider rare? XD; For the most part, I've just picked up clearfiles as they were released, so I never really had to search and fight for one before.

And yes, it is official! (Pic: http://pyreembers.weebly.com/uploads/5/3/0/9/5309764/9277061_orig.jpg) I won it in a GA a long time ago. The copyright info date on it says "1995-2004," so I can only assume it was released during 3rd gen?

That's not a dumb question. haha

For me personally, I would consider a clearfile rare if it wasn't released in the last 5 years? I wish I started my clearfiles collection sooner because I missed out on a lot of really nice ones!

The Christmas Arceus and Halloween pumpkin ones are on my want list. I hope to find them soon!
