Pokemon Pearl Help!

I have never played a Pokemon game before this one, so needless to say I'm still a newbie. :) I'd like to think I've done well so far -- I'm at the Elite Four and so far have beaten every trainer/gym leader before this with ease. Level more of your pokemon to 60 (using the Versus Seeker to beat lesser NPC trainers over and over), taking into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of the Elite Four. I had a hard time with them at first, too, but once I had a team all up to 60, I was able to win.

Winning with only one pokemon is possible, but definitely not something newbies should try, and the pokemon in question should be at least L80. I'd kind of like to kick your friend for suggesting that to you.

Well, she didn't suggest that I should do it, she just said that it's what SHE did, and I guess I figured I could do the same. Haha.
