I've been hacked again

Apr 27, 2008 02:03

Ugh, I've received another email from eBay stating that my password has been compromised. Meaning that I'll have to change my password yet again.

This is the second time this year that this has happened and my PayPal account was hacked last year too.

I wonder how long it will be before my livejournal account is hacked?

Your card, your e-bay account and your paypal?

Sounds too much to be a coincidence ... I assume you've checked your system for virii, trojans, spyware, etc.

Is the ebay e-mail valid? it could be a con spam ...

Nah, the internet was responsible for getting to my card. My card is an ATM/debit card, I can't use it on the internet, whomever got to it, got to it via a skimming device in the card slot at the ATM machine.

For internet purchases I have a 3V card, but I haven't used it yet. It's sorta like a prepaid credit card and run by VISA. You purchase temporary VISA vouchers up to a value of €350 (which means I can't purchase international airline tickets, only flights with rubbishy cheap ones like RyanAir). The thing is you can only purchase up to €3500 worth of vouchers per year

So, are the emails from eBay telling me to go to eBay and change my password because my account has become compromised fake or genuine? Because they don't tell me to click a link, they just tell me to go to eBay.
