If you purchased that router using your credit card, most stores will have a record of it without you needing to show a receipt.

And it's heartening to see that Charter isn't the only cable company capable of gross incompetence.

Its sad how Charter has gone from a pretty awesome cable company to what it is now. That being said though, I'd still rather be with Charter then Time Warner, who is trying to put bandwidth caps, tiered use, and other nefarious things into practice.

Actually, I found the receipt while cleaning up last night. It was under a pile of stuff. I'm still not sure if I'm going to take it back though, cause I currently like to have my printer networked to a wifi router so I can print anywhere. I don't think the cable modem alone is capable of that. Though I did have some problems with my router while I was fiddling around some stuff. I ended up having to reset it to get it to work properly again

I got my first bill for this week. They did charge me for installation, but it was only ten dollars. Additionally the did not charge me for any rental fees for the modem. My bill says that I'm signed up for 7mbs service, but I"m getting much faster speeds on my speed test. So bank error in my favor then. So it looks like I won't need to correct anything. I can also send away for the second part of the rebate on the modem that I bought.

So it looks like I win. Go Team me.
