Where have I been?

May 07, 2006 14:11

I was motivated to update my livejournal for a while, but I got to a point where I had too much to do, so I really couldn't spend the time. I also haven't been to the gym that much either, which is disappointing. On the plus side I only have 2 more months of work, and then I am done with my job. Work has started to just pile up. Because I'm like a ( Read more... )

Everyone I have ever met thinks meetings are a complete waste of time and complains about their frequency. I, however, find them to be a great way to spend the day (you are getting paid to sit around and basically do nothing) and lament the fact that I only have two per week.

SHINS! Oh man, say it isn't so. My shins have been tempermental just like that for the past 4 years with no signs of letting up, regardless of the frequency and length of time I take off from running. It frustrates me to no end (and eliminates the joy of running) when my shins completely randomly explode with pain and force me to drastically slow or walk. If you ever find out what is wrong and/or what to do to remedy the situation, please let me know! You would be my hero if you restored the glory of my pain-free high school running days.

I still really want to run in the Chicago Marathon, but most likely will lame out of it for the third straight year because of my shins and lack of running dedication.

Most meetings are lame because you are typically beating a dead horse or covering topics that aren't exciting.

Meetings with other companies can be pretty cool and educational, though.

my shins are still hurting, and the only thing I have found out is that it could be due to a sudden increase in use, but this isn't something I did. I dont just start out with 5 mile runs, and I figured you didn't either. But the solution for that specific problem was pretty much to just keep running and it will go away. This was a random internet source btw, so probably not that accurate. But I force you to continue to run!! MARATHON OR BUST!

Yes, I do not just go out and overdo it with long runs, which is what is so vexing about the problem. I can take a few months off, then go running and within ONE mile my shins might start hurting to the point of needing to walk. How very lame.

I will keep my eye on the marathon, but no promises. I am running Bay to Breakers again in two weeks (12K), and I am dangerously under-trained. If I wake up the day after and I can still walk, I will consider my current running progress acceptable.

Yeah I heard DC has a high crime rate O_o Be careful mang. Man... East Coast... people are getting all spread out. It brings a tear to my eye. Although Sidd's out there too, which would mean some sort of traveling bonanza is in order. I will hatch a good plan, but it needs to incubate first. I will remedy this with some beer which I will chug. Peace.
