Hello LJ, I'm back from Peru. It was great :)

I'm so pleased you could come, it was a great weekend. And beyond flattered to have your visit attributed to me, although I think L's wish to flesh out the backstory of her protagonist must have been at least as important. And, once again, thank you for being such good guests on a weekend when I was completely emplagued!

It was an awesome weekend, and so much better for having your local knowledge!

Heh- to be fair, there was also a bit of 'visit South America' bucket list ticking and 'eat all the things' to it, but I did manage to get a whole bunch of writing ideas down. Weirdly, it was all non-novel stuff, until I ran into an Argentinian couple who'd come from northern Peru and a tiny hilarious lady who was born in Ayacucho... but now lives in Southend-on-Sea. Boggle. We exchanged email addresses because she was amazingly informative, speaks Spanish and Quechua and has a sister in Trujillo if I ever scrape enough money together to go back. Honestly, that thing about me meeting people and getting their entire life story is bang-on, every time.

Fortunately the plague waited till we were back to hit me, but I'm mostly over it now in time for a writing group deadline \o/
