So my arbitrary goal/new years resolution of doing the splits by the end of the year PROBABLY is not going to happen unless I slip on ice and have a horrendously traumatizing experience of a lifetime.

My temporary arbitrary goal will now be to put one foot behind my head by jan 1st.  I can get a heel on the top of my head, so i'm pretty close.

Woo Hoo, so it looks like I'll be spending my New Years this year in New York.  Hopefully, I'll cram myself into the crowd at Times Square.  Those who know, how early does one have to get there and where to go for a good view of the ball drop?

Also need to find a hotel  Those 3 days prior are mighty expensive for hotels.

Good thing I flew with them back on the 15th, instead of the 29th which we also pondered.

Turns out they REALLY did need those fees on overweight checked baggage after all. 

Got back home from France/Italy trip.  Will post pics at some point I'm sure.
