My trike started having problems before last fall... the chain kept popping off when I rode it, which is positively TERRIFYING when you're in the street with cars, let me tell you. I also loosened the seat to raise it and then it did NOT want to tighten back up, it has been out of commission for MONTHS, leaving me to walk a mile into town to work
