Survived Black Friday (ブラクフリダイ・金曜日黒い。。if you must see! Always thought Japanese was different, so you'd say Friday in front of Black, because black is the descriptor.

Actually adjective are before the word just like in English... so it's 黒い金曜日. and ブラック・フライデー

Can't wait to see more photos!!

Oh Hmmm where did I read that it was before the word..;.; Agh screw up is me!

So the ツ is necessary for burakku? Instead of just ku/ク? Weird! And then the ー is what exactly? I don't remember learning that on my chart :0

No, you don't change the ク to シ. The word, ブラック is what's called a "loan word" and is just the Japanese pronunciation of the English word black. There are a lot of loan words from different languages in Japanese, like アルバイト (arubaito) is from the German word "arbeit" (ahr-bahyt), which means work.

ー is an extender. It's used to extend the sounds in katakana, where in hiragana you would add い or う (or second あ え お う) to make it longer. Like ようこそ (youkoso - welcome) would be written as ヨーコソ rather than ヨウコソ

I see. o.O So in Katakana it's a must then? I wasn't aware of that! Thanks!

I knew it was a loan word, just didn't know why you needed the double kk's! But I guess it's just how each word is written - I don't know all the loan words so I just guess usually in katakana. ^.^;; Hha!

Arbeit? Interesting, that's a word I'm not too familiar with, I wonder how often it's used! ^^

Actually, I said in the last post that the adjective comes in front of the noun in Japanese... ha. Maybe you didn't read my comment, though.
Anyways, yeah. Don't read too much into it! In Katakana and Hiragana the adjective comes first... Japanese is like English in that respect.
