I usually don't like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog... his insults are weak and trite and he often laughs at his own jokes. I was amused by some of his antics at Comic Con though. Watch as he gives a pretty good Snake Eyes cosplayer a wedgie early on in the clip. I was also amused by his interactions with the Cylon ( Read more... )

Hmm...I never gave much thought to how much the character of Ripcord will change once the movie comes out, but I think you are right. My two defining moments of Ripcord comes from Money to Burn in the cartoons, and his early introduction with Lady Jaye in the comics. It will be weird to see this whole new version in the movie.

Every so often I wonder what the movie will do with the ff.net site regarding GI Joe fan fiction. I really hope it becomes more popular as some of the other fandoms, but I have a feeling that a lot of it will be stuff I don't want to read.

He even had a pretty decent plot line in the comics with his girlfriend and all. I think part of it is that he's a normal nice guy (with no great fear of heights.)

I'm betting the movie will draw back some old cartoon or comic fans even if there's a momentary spike in movie universe folks - and that's on top of the spark the new comic will no doubt create in some people who feel spent on the fandom.

I wonder what the cartoon-haters think of the fact GI Joe is classified under 'cartoon' and if the movie fans will be somewhat confused that it is. It reminds me of the rec.arts hierarchy change debates over finding a happy place for media-spanning titles like Superman to exist.
