I couldn't help but think how hard it must have been for you to write about the cruelty to the dog. I'm glad you allowed your compassion to flow by giving him the pill. What an awful thought that fear could really do this to us. Excellent story!

How horrifying. This was really well done. I wanted to know more about this world. Somehow, I suspected that the end wouldn't really come. It's so sad that she was the only one who was not afraid to face it and the little details you put in made it feel very real and emotional.
