As far as commenting goes... If you just say, "I enjoyed this," or "Thank you for sharing," that's usually enough. I *never* expect anyone to write anything huge, and I think most writers feel the same way.
I second that! Carol, you made a post about it a long time ago, and since then, I do my best to comment any fic I liked. Even a 'good story' or a 'thanks for sharing' goes a long way for a writer.
i get that from writer perspective why they did it.. i do.. its not motivating and demoralising when u write and ppl dun give any feedback or comments.. i do get it. i do understand..
im just voicing out what readers like me feel.. we love to read.. a lot.. i guess its also our fault for not commenting and not stimulating the writers.. i just thought writers might get bored if i just said, good work.. nice story.. they might ask for more.. and knowing me.. i dunno how to provide feedback nor good comments.. i just know that i love to read the fics...
those that didnt add me back, its ok.. i cant force.. its their rights, their materials.. im just too sad that i get stopped from reading a fic halfway..
Hi hun... have just added you and came over to check out your LJ as i do with everyone that friends Karfreagh.
Reading this post i just wanted to tell you why my journal is friends only.
It used to be open and wide open at that, i would regularly get three maybe four pages of comments and everything was happy.
Then I came to the attention of people that I wasnt in a good place to deal with and they began to laugh at me and my writing. I just couldnt handle it then, so i went friends only.
I dont ever turn anyone away, i love every one of you that reads and comments on my fic - I promise. I just feel safer with it all tied up.
That may change, but until then, I apologise for making people friend the LJ.
HUGS and hope you enjoy what you came here to find. Let me know, I would love to hear from you. XXXX
