A stick, a stick, a cucumber, and a little man

In the last post, I mentioned two objects created for the "Where The Storm" project. This "bird" and "character", which will be discussed.

"Paint" the character

This "character", more precisely, the very first of its prototype, on which its development is finished. It consists of two circles and two lines - the eye. A version on the right, it's "drawed" on the same graphical editor version.

By analogy with the "character", first I added a head and body, as well as wings:

The first version of the bird

A "skelet" of wings was created,it was important to make a turn for them, it turned out some pseudo 3d:

Further, feathers were added. On the top picture, in the process of testing, we got a funny animation, and on the bottom wings already looked like real ones:

This is the final version, at the time of work with "Where The Storm". In it, the bird flies behind the cursor, turning in the right direction:

At the moment, the bird is also changed, the main difference is that it has changed the animation of the wings:

To create objects, used detailisation . If you want to create a "flock of birds," then you do not need to draw details for them:

Today the lowest level of detail is realized, and, naturally, in the future I plan to make more detailed objects.

Unlike other objects, the "bird" has an explicit property of animation. And in the form in which it is now, to the animation is given more work.

This prompted me to think that it would be nice to make an animation of objects in the graphics editor, a kind of live picture. And after the work with the graphics editor was suspended, I decided to render the animated picture as a separate project "Pixel Walker".

Its name later migrated to the engine itself, which resulted in a wider application. I will write more about this in the next post, and now it's traditionally a video! The result of testing the serialization and deserialization of an object, for example on "Copy" of objects:
