If you really want to go and end up not being able to scrape together the money for a hotel, you can always do a hostel. I stayed in one for a weekend in London once that was like $17 a night. Which is, you know, not ideal, but might make things a little more feasible.

I am, sadly, too old for hostels. No really. They have age limits.

The one I was staying at didn't, I don't think. I remember a much older guy being in the room with all of us.

I'll see if I can get Chesty to help me figure out where I stayed, and check out age limit and price and stuff for you. You're probably right, but it doesn't hurt for me to double check.

Also, I may be able to swing paying for a set of icons or something. Will have to check le budget.

Most of the ones I've looked at have 35 as their top age.

Hostels and B&Bs, plus there are some good economy hotels to stay at (my friend Sulla is going to London in 3 weeks and has found some great deals).

Good idea - and don't undersell yourself, I'd happily pay more for some commissioned photoshop work - I could do it myself but lack the time and I respect your time and skills. If you decide to go this route, drop me a line at my other email (goodbyemyfancy gmail) and we can work something out. You could be flexible with costs depending on a case by case.

Otherwise - eBay as a seller, making more stuff to sell if you have other craft skills, making t-shirts or buttons, um ... I'll see if any other come to mind :)
