Van der Marc Legacy 1.0

Aug 07, 2011 23:11

So, I suppose this is where I'm to introduce the legacy. Basically, it is a typical Round Robin.
Frankly, kittenmittonsvayleen and I have been planning this for awhile, but we never got around to it until now.
I'm just excited and want to get this started, so I hope you don't mind.
The naming theme of this legacy is crazy/evil monarchs, as I am a history geek with an unhealthy obsession.
So, sit back and grab some popcorn. Although, if you're offended by profanity, well, you probably shouldn't read this.

Joanna van der Marc. You may recognize her as my guinea pig for Generations,
though I edited her features a bit. Her elf ears are hidden underneath those innocent braids of hers.
She's Eccentric, Evil, Insane, Inappropriate, and Mean-Spirited. She loves French music, Stir-Fry, and yellow.
She also dreams of becoming the Emperoress of Evil in Barnacle Bay.

Joanna immediately high-tails it inside to check out her shack. From the looks of it, she approves.
She better, seeing that I used damn near all of her funds to make it homey for her. I SPOIL MY SIMS, OK!

Seeing that it was morning and she was starving, I figured she ought to learn to cook waffles before autumn salad.
Hopefully, she won't disappoint me by setting the house on fire.

First meal is a success! Also, I'm not sure why she changed into her athletic clothes.
Though if the success rate is exponentially higher, I won't complain.

Well-fed and otherwise settled, Joanna heads for the Warehouse, confident as ever.

She is, however, unimpressed with the decor.
Joanna: I understand the need to be obscure, but this dump looks like it's been lifted from the set of a bad mob movie.

Joanna comes out moments later, attitude unchanged.
Joanna: I'm hiring an interior decorator the first chance I get.

So, seeing that she has to up her Athletic skill for this career path AND find a spouse, I Joanna decided to visit the gym.

We're off to a great start.

While Joanna was busy failing, I caught this cute pirate couple canoodling in the gym. I couldn't help myself.

After Joanna exhausted herself, I sent her to the Bistro for a well-deserved meal.
Lucien Rand ( caitvizzle ) just happened to be walking by.
I would've made Joanna talk to him, but he disappeared.

Poor Joanna was forced to eat her sushi alone.

Why the disgusted look, Jo?
Joanna: Are you seeing what I'm seeing?

An old hippie with a bad makeup job and a freaky dude with a mullet?

Joanna: This fucking town and its bunch of weirdos.

Those in batshit houses shouldn't throw stones.

Don't look at me like that.

The next day, her very first day of work, Joanna gets arrested. Apparently, she felt it necessary to dress for the occasion.
Joanna: I can't fucking believe this. It's not as if I was doing anything illegal.
Besides conspiring with your accomplices? >.<
Well, as luck would have it, Lucien was one of them, so it's not all bad.
However, she did spend almost her entire second day of life in jail.

Of course, the third day didn't start out so well either.

FFS, Joanna. I DID NOT GIVE YOU THE LOSER TRAIT WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THIS?
*le sigh*

Of course, there's always a bright side to everything.
If you have a mishap at work, what better to apologize for it than a small party?
Joanna: Lucien! Be at my house at seven, and make sure to bring the other guy with you.
I'm ordering pizza!

This is the "other guy" whose name I cannot remember.
I've decided to call him Teddy because he just looks like a softie to me.
Besides, his loyalty can be bought with pizza. What's not to love?

Lucien, however, did not succumb to Joanna's hospitality.
Lucien: Look at me, I'm Joanna. I act all high and mighty in the workplace, but I can't even guard a hostage!

Joanna:

Joanna: This just isn't my day.

Joanna: Ok. I'm going to make this as simple as I possibly can. It was stupid of me to let him get away, you're right.
But don't think for a second that I'm going to let you insult me in my own house.
Talk to me like that again, and you will wake up with no reproductive organs tomorrow.

Lucien: So, you have a backbone after all. I like that.

Joanna: Yeah, well, there's plenty more where that came from. Don't underestimate me.
Lucien: Wouldn't dream of it.

I know that look all too well.

Joanna: So, Boss, do you admire spontaneity as well as assertiveness?
Lucien: Why do you ask?

Oh, Inappropriate sims. ♥

And, of course, she ended up where all great legacy founders do.
Get it, girl!

Lucien struts his stuff out the door the next morning.

...into the arms of another woman. GDI, Lucien!

Joanna: No, it's ok. I know exactly how to handle this.

Joanna: Heeey, Lucien. I was thinking about our little chat last night, and I have a few ideas to run by you.
Why don't you come over later? Maybe around six?

Joanna: A surprise, you ask? Oh, yes. I have quite a "surprise" for you.

Lucien barely makes it to the mailbox before Joanna pounces on him.
Joanna: What the hell were you thinking? Is this your idea of a joke?
Do you think you're some kind of player? I've met children with more class than you.

Lucien: What exactly were you expecting? Breakfast in bed? Marriage?
Is that why you're wearing a wedding dress? Come off it, Joanna. We just met.

Joanna: I wore this dress to make a point. You say you liked my having a backbone, so here it is.
If you wanted some kind of friends-with-benefits deal, you could've just said so.

Joanna: Now, let's put this messy ordeal behind us. Come inside, there's something I want to show you.

Not long after that...

I have a feeling your relationship is about to change.

*POP*

Joanna: Damnit, Lucien. I'm going to make you wish you had never been born.

Having only a few dollars to her name, Joanna is forced to read a pregnancy book at the library.
Seeing that it will be awhile before she gets promoted, Operation: Convince Baby Daddy To Move In begins.

Joanna: I'm happy you came over, Lucien. I have something very important to tell you.
It's huge, and I need you to hear me out.
Lucien: Go on.

Joanna: You remember the night we agreed to our little deal?
Lucien: Of course.
Joanna: Well, apparently we weren't being careful enough. I'm pregnant.

Lucien: Wow!
Joanna: Stop yelling at me! Wait...what?

Lucien: That's great, Jo.

Joanna: Seriously? You're not angry?
Lucien: No! Why would I be? It takes two to tango, and all that.

Joanna: Listen, I'm not asking for a relationship or anything.
But this was unexpected, and I can't afford to raise the baby on my own.
I would really appreciate if you could help out.

Lucien: I'll do anything to help you, Jo. You know that.

And thus, Operation: Convince Baby Daddy To Move In was successful.

Lucien surprised me by devouring a pregnancy book.

Joanna's cooking didn't fare well with Lucien in the house,
though I'm pretty sure it has to do with her not wearing her athletic clothes.

Either way, Lucien was still there to comfort her. No lie, he kept rolling want after want for Joanna.
Eventually, one thing led to another and...

it turns out WooHoo does, in fact, induce labor.

In all my years of simming, I can honestly say that I have never seen a sim clap and smile while another sim was in labor.
I'm not sure if he's just evil and was enjoying her misery, or just really, really excited about becoming a dad.

All went well, and Joanna came home with a baby boy named Ludwig.
He is evil, like both his parents, and a genius, like his father.
He likes stu surprise, hip hop, and sea foam.

Joanna took to motherhood right away.

Lucien busted a move in celebration of the new arrival.

Of course, there's always someone that has to kill the mood.

Lucien didn't let the bad press keep him from autonomously snuggling his son.

It wasn't too long (a day, thanks to Generations) before Ludwig was due to join the ranks of toddlerhood.

Ludwig came out looking like his father, but with Joanna's eyes and skin.
He also has her elf ears. You can see them poking out of his hair a bit there.

All of the happiness surrounding his son's birthday put Lucien in one of those happy go-lucky moods.

He decided to pop the question right on the spot.

Will she say yes? Find out next time!
