This whole fic is so... I don't know, perfect I guess? The pain is so raw and true, and there's life taking its toll and still there's so much hope in it. I kinda don't know what to say besides you're damn awesome.
The snow is falling, thick and steady, and it lands in the twisted mess of hair on her back.
That is the most beautiful line I've read in a while. And Dean sleeping with the baby? Oh, you killed me.

One thing that really stood out for me was how your apocalyptic world was cold and wet (snowy) and sunless, rather than hot and dry. Either setting can provide a great backdrop, but I like how your take on things gave a hushed feel to the piece, like the world had gone to sleep and was waiting to wake up again. Nice.
Favorite lines:
She cries when the numbness gives way to pain because as hard as dying is, finding life is even harder.
Lovely, aching phrasing.
“You can teach her how to do her hair all nice and pretty, Sammy, since you spend so much time on yours. Wanna show her how to paint her nails too?”

I've read so many apocalyse fics where the world is hot and dry in the cliched end of the world desert. Heck, I've even written that myself. I guess I wanted something different for a setting to see how it would change the story's plot and the feel of it. Perhaps the snowy world isn't the best fit for an August read, but I'm glad you liked it. ;)
