There is a bit of a creepy quality to it--I wrote it in the dark of my room and when someone popped their head in, I practically jumped out of my seat I was so into the story, haha--but I can understand the idea of the scarily inevitable. It didn't seem in character for them to do the "one last night together" sex. Perhaps because it was such a big thing coming for them otherwise?
And yes, I like to think they'll be together at the end, too. :)
I read this on my phone on the London Underground as I was coming to work....my fellow travellers must have wondered why the quiet girl in the corner reading something on her phone had suddenly tears on her cheeks.
This just hurt - the inevitability of all their battles coming down to this. And the waiting, the prospects in each of their minds of losing the other. So sad and felt so real. Thank you, hon. *sniffs*
