Scooters in Pittsburgh

I live in Highland Park and am thinking about getting a Vespa or similar scooter. Anyone know how safe they are parked on the street, ways to minimize weather effects (no garage), etc. Any advice would be appreciated!

My spouse and I got scooters from Genuine and rode them for many years. (BTW, she's selling hers, if you're interested in a cheap used one!) It's worth looking at them, especially the Stella, even if buying new; not the same name recognition, but a solid scooter at a good price. (You do probably want to at least spring for a trusted name brand.) And remember that anything above 50cc requires a motorcycle licence in PA, which is something I'm happy to talk about if you haven't worked that out. Definitely take the (free!) motorcycle safety training course; you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by doing it ( ... )

Thanks for all the great info! Can you give me the particulars on the scooter she is selling? Model, year, mileage, and asking price.

Thanks.
