Is Veterans' Taxi reliable?

I want to reserve a cab to take my son to the airport on Saturday, and I'd like to give a smaller taxi service some business. One I've seen around downtown is Veterans' Taxi, but I've never used them, and I want to make sure they pick my son up on time and to the airport on time. Have you ever used this service? If so, what do you think of it? By ( Read more... )

Just checked, and they do go to the airport. I have heard good things about them.

Thanks! Even though it's more expensive than Super Shuttle, I'd like to give them my business.

Please comment with how they work out for you! It seems pretty universal that Yellow Cab is NOT reliable, and I'd love to learn which options we CAN rely on.

I've heard a lot of grumbling about Yellow Cab, but as an anecdotal counterpoint, I've always been happy with the service the few times I've taken them to the airport from Shadyside -- including the time I called at the last minute because I'd planned to drive but my car wouldn't start! They always picked me up when they said they would and got me to the airport on time.

Yellow Cab can be fine if they're clear about directions for pickup and destination. Once, I asked for them to come to my house and gave the specific address, but it wasn't until I noticed a cab waiting on the next block up that it crossed my mind that they were totally confused, so I ran up and confirmed it was ours. And then there have been times that they simply did not show up. I'm hoping it will be better with Veterans'.

Will do. I have one ordered to pick up my son on Saturday afternoon. They're supposed to call with confirmation sometime prior to pickup time
