plate numbers required on newer paid parking

I was luckily not far away from my car on Craig Street this past Saturday when I noticed that the new paid parking kiosk was requiring that I enter my plate number, not simply insert payment. In other words, have your plate number either memorized or jotted down before you head down to the kiosk, especially if you notice kiosks existing where until ( Read more... )

Yup.

And while the Kiosks don't seem to let you ADD time, if you are there right when it expires, you can buy another (2, 4, etc) hours of time.

Just don't let it sit expired for too long or you might get napped by the meter maids - they are ninjas.

They're a great improvement over meters, at least, partly because they don't require quarters, partly because they allow as much as four hours parking with a single payment.

I agree. I love the new "meters" because I don't have to worry about having quarters. Lack of quarters was what kept me from trying to park in Oakland a lot.

I took a pic of mine wtih my cell phone camera. I am awful at remembering short numbers I use rarely (ie: telephone numbers)
