I need to hit up a laundromat since my husband and I just moved into a new place with washer/dryer hookups but haven't acquired said washer/dryer yet

I don't know about Shady Ave, but you should check with the laundromat at Edgewood Towne Center.
They used to have a "babysitting" service. For a set fee (last I knew it was about $1 per load), they'll keep an eye on your laundry, switch it to the dryer and sometimes even fold it when it's finished in the dryer. When I used the service, I could give special instructions for specific items ("don't put this sweater in the dryer; don't let my jeans dry all the way....").
You still have to load the washers initially, but for the privilege of not having to hang around the laundromat through the wash and dry, I always thought it was worth it.
Again, I'm not sure if they still have this service, but it's certainly worth looking into.
