After the yoga class offered at my gym turned out to be a huge let-down, I'm looking for an affordable studio to join in the airport/North Hills area (I'm coming from Sewickley, but driving's not really an issue). Ideally I'm looking for intermediate level classes and some sort of unlimited monthly pass... nothing too fancy. So far all signs seem ( Read more... )

East End suggestions.. ginskye February 24 2010, 19:18:18 UTC
It sounds like you're looking for something a bit more open than the classes I've been taking, but I've been attending a donation-based yoga program Thursday night at East Liberty Presbyterian Church - donation-based is pretty student friendly. The class is very easygoing and geared towards those who already have some casual knowledge - I'd say beginner/intermediate friendly.

If you're looking for something structured in the intermediate/challenging area, I'd also highly recommend the Tuesday night yoga class at the Wilkins School Community Center. I attended for one session before scheduling became a problem for me, and I'd love to go back when time allows.

I go to Yoga on the Square in Regent Square.

They have multiple classes at many different levels. I've been away from yoga for many years and have found a class nearly every day for someone either new to or returning to yoga.

Price structure at Yoga on the Square seems similar to Three Rivers Yoga.

If you are looking for Yoga in Sewickley, there are a couple of studios.

I teach Prenatal at iYoga, on Blackburn Road. http://www.iyogainc.com/ There are a number of other classes offered and all the teachers there are fabulous.

This place is in the Nickelodeon Mall http://yogainsewickley.org/ I've not taken any of their classes, but I hear good things about them as well.
