Have you tried Cavalier?

So, I've found out that FIOS really isn't available at my new address in Brookline, after all. However, I called Nidhog and they referred me to Cavalier about DSL service. Seems I really can get DSL through Cavalier, but it might take longer than I have available. Have any of you dealt with Cavalier?

Their prices are great, just be prepared for the typical CLEC experience. You are buying service from a reseller who has no real service infrastructure. When something goes wrong, they put in a trouble ticket to the company that really owns everything (Verizon) who resells through them (involuntarily, with a good deal of hatred, due to legislation that attempts to create a fair market out of their unfair but hallowed monopoly).

Guess how fast Verizon works on those trouble tickets versus their own.

It's all about, do you wanna fight the man, or give in to his tactics. Just educating...

I've been using it for two years, and I have a visceral hatred for the company, itself. I might end up staying with it, simply as a known quantity.
