According to a sign posted on their door as of last week, Aaron & Ari's is closed due to storm damage. No clue if that is temporary or not.

And I doubt that this is the answer you're looking for, but the Sq. Hill Giant Eagle's bakery is now Kosher certified.

Egads! Those storms were two weeks ago now. How much damage could there have been? I hope they're up and running again soon. My Kosher-keeping friend will be here in two weeks and I'm thinking all Milky Way all the time is not going to make for a very fun visit.

Have you tried asking the JCC? They might have a list.

Not that are certified Kosher, no.

I stopped in at Pinsker's and asked, just to be sure. Until Aaron and Ari's reopens, Milky Way is the one and only Kosher-certified restaurant in Pittsburgh.

I, for one, find this shocking. The last time I was in Philadelphia (for example) there were three Kosher Chinese (vegetarian) restaurants in Chinatown alone, and who knows how many other Kosher restaurants in more traditionally Jewish neighborhoods. The fact that we're -- for the moment -- down to just one kind of blows my mind.
