coin counting machines?

Does anyone know of any local banks that have those free coin counting machines in them? I know the CoinStar machines are free if you take a gift card, but I'd rather have cash. Bonus points for any locations close to Highland Park.

I'd also be interested in knowing where these might be, and also where Coinstar machines might be located around the city. I never mind taking a gift card and I have absolutely no use for all the other-than-quarters change we have lying around.

A lot of Giant Eagles have Coinstar machines. I know for sure that the Market District in Shadyside and the regular GE in East Liberty do, and that the Shop n Save in Lawrenceville does.

Add the Giant Eagles in Sq. Hill and the Waterfront to that list.

They give Amazon.com gift certificates and Home Depot gift certificates without a surcharge, which is pretty much as good as cash if you happen to shop either place.

Anytime I have ever gone into a First Commonwealth, they have made me pay a fee to get my money after the change was counted because I didn't have an account.

exactly. all it did was piss me off, tbh. i was going out of the country and i wanted to get smaller bills changed into 100's, and they wanted to charge me for that too, which baffled me. my bank is out of state and i was actually looking for one. they are not in the running, lol.

The PNC bank out in Robinson Towne Center has one that's free.

I realize that's quite a bit distant from where you are, but it's the only one I know.

The PNC Bank ones (I know there's one in Miracle Mile in Monroeville, and I believe in MacIntyre Square off McKnight Road) are free, but only if you have an account with PNC.
